Building on success
13th October 2026Sustainability must be embedded in infrastructure development

In 2026, Ireland reached a major milestone by achieving 8GW of onshore renewable electricity generation, and over the last 10 years Ireland has doubled the wind energy capacity.
We are witnessing the clean energy transition in real time, as investment, innovation and collaboration come together to shape how we generate energy and deliver lasting benefits for communities, economies and the environment. At H&MV Engineering, we are proud to part of this green transition.
Sustainability is not just an ambition for us, it is a core value that informs every decision we make. Operating at the heart of the energy sector, we are uniquely positioned to contribute to a more sustainable world by delivering the infrastructure needed to facilitate the transition to renewable energy.
Renewable energy
H&MV Engineering deliver specialised high-voltage electrical engineering and infrastructure and is playing a critical role in enabling Ireland’s renewable energy future. By designing and delivering the infrastructure that underpins wind, solar, battery storage and interconnection projects. H&MV Engineering is helping to create an energy system that is resilient, scalable, and fit for purpose. We are committed to an integrated approach, ensuring that the transition to a low-carbon system is supported by equally low-carbon business practices.
The challenge
As the investment in energy infrastructure grows, so too does the demand for materials such as steel, aluminium, copper and concrete. These materials are crucial for substations and renewable energy projects, providing the durability and reliability to support modern energy systems. However, the demand on natural resources and often the energy intensity of production can significantly contribute to a projects overall carbon footprint.
Embedding sustainability in delivery
As we deliver positive impacts to communities, it is important to mitigate negative impact to the environment. H&MV Engineering is seizing the opportunity to rethink how infrastructure is designed and built, by delivering our projects through innovative thinking, sustainable and lean design principles, reduced carbon materials, and fostering genuine collaboration with our value chain partners to create sustainable outcomes through a collective and aligned approach.
Sustainable design and operations
As the industry continues to develop, we embrace the emergence of low-carbon materials, alternative fuels, electrification of equipment, lean operations, and other opportunities for continuous improvement. We endeavour to eliminate waste at the source and are integrating sustainable design principles across all aspects of our operations to reduce our environmental impact and promote long-term sustainability and resilience.
We empower our colleagues, value chain, clients, and our business partners to make positive sustainable changes, wherever they act.
